GCFLearnFree.org Offers A New Reading Program

Reading Program
The number of people in the United States who cannot read is staggering. Over 40 million
adults cannot read at all and over 50 million cannot read higher than a fifth grade level. However 74 percent of people in the United States use the Internet, so it seems to be an excellent tool for helping people improve their literacy skills. With that in mind, GCFLearnFree.org is now offering a new free Reading Program designed to help struggling adult readers become more proficient with the most common words in the English language.

Built upon the 1,000 most popular words, this Reading Program utilizes original texts that use these words to help the learner become familiar with conversational English. Learners gain exposure to these words through a number of different interactive tools that help them learn to read.

Go to GCFLearnFree.org to experience the new Reading Program.

Nature Program Serves Adults with Disabilities

Adults with disabilities are having a wonderful time planting and harvesting produce (Over 1,000 lbs. donated last year to the local Food Bank),
planting flowers, hiking the nature trails and working on nature crafts. Watch a brief video about the program.
