Photos from Congregagco dos Sacramentinas Orphanage in Mozambique

 

 

The GCF Community Foundation provided funds for reconstruction of a classroom for these residents of the orphanage. Funds were also provided for the planting of fruit trees around the orphanage. The trees provide both shade and nutritious fresh fruit for the children.

 

 

Safety was a major issue for the orphanage until, through the support of the GCF Community Foundation, a protective wall was built around the compound to protect the residents from marauders. The inset photo shows the glass and spikes lining the top of the wall. The grounds, which were once swampy, have been drained, reducing the dread of malaria each spring.

 

 

A bright and engaging environment is provided for the children at the orphanage. Many of the children have health issues which must be dealt with.

 

 

The GCF Community Foundation is happy to be a part of this organization which is able to bring hope to some of Mozambique's children.
